Under the slogan “shaping the future by connecting scientific diversity” the annual conference of the European Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society took place in Freiburg from the 20th– 23rd of May. Participants from a plethora of fields including cellular biology, bioengineering, and clinics could partake in engaging presentations and fruitful discussions. From in-depth hydrogel sessions to ophthalmology and women´s health, all key areas of tissue engineering were covered.

The MicroOrganoLab could contribute with two oral presentations and one poster presentation. Svenja introduced our past and recent developments within our retina-on-chip project whereas Adrian welcomed attendees at his poster on our cervix-on-chip platform utilized for infection studies.

The scientific program was rounded off by a great interculturally culinary event at the market halls and an elegant dinner party at Freiburg´s concert house.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to attend this event and are looking forward to all the coming advances in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine!
