Teresa Brandtner

Intern

Teresa received her bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Biotechnology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria. She then pursued a master’s degree in Biotechnology. For her master’s thesis project, she investigated alterations of the vimentin cytoskeleton in human dermal fibroblasts in stress-induced premature senescence and replicative senescence at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute in Vienna.

During her studies, Teresa participated in an Erasmus exchange semester at Linköping University in Sweden. This experience sparked her curiosity in microphysiological systems and microfabrication. After obtaining her master’s degree in Biotechnology, Teresa joined the MicroOrgano Lab as an Erasmus post-graduate intern. She is currently part of the neuroinflammation-on-chip project, where she investigates the effects of inflammatory mediators on iPSC-derived neurons.

In her free time, Teresa enjoys cooking with friends, gardening.
