Valerie Nele Meier

BSc Student

Valerie is currently studying Biomedical Sciences (B.Sc.) at the Reutlingen University and completed a voluntary social year in the department for oncology in a hospital. This experience sparked a lasting interest in immunology and oncology, and in how the human immune system can be understood and modeled outside the body.

In August 2026, she joined the µOrganoLab for her half year internship semester. She focuses on comparing PDMS- versus PMMA-based chip designs made for our thymus-on-chip project led by Dr. Andre Rosa.

Outside the lab, Valerie likes to stay active. She enjoys hiking, going to the gym, and spending time outdoors in nature.
