Cardiac models are increasing in complexity in order to closely recapitulate the morphological and functional properties of the human heart. Together with our collaborators at LUMC, NL, and Miltenyi Biotec, we reviewed the different 3D cardiac tissue models, novel tailored readouts, and future perspectives for implementation in industry and academia.
