In this review, we summarized the main impacts of obesity on the pulmonary tract caused by obesity. In light of the global pandemic, we also discussed the pathogenesis of bacterial and viral infections in connection to obesity, and the current in vitro and in vivo models being used to study obesity-related mechanisms.
