Dr. Claudia Teufel

Postdoc

Claudia received her Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology from the University of Heidelberg and graduated from the University of Freiburg with a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine. She then spent two years at the Roche Innovation Center Zurich and Basel where she gathered work experience at the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development Department. In 2016, she enrolled into the International PhD program in Biomedicine at the University of Basel to pursue her PhD degree in Cell Biology with a focus in Immunology. During her studies she focused on understanding the functions and dysfunctions of immune cells and strived to define mechanisms which could be targeted to treat cancer, chronic infections and (auto-)inflammatory diseases. Thereby, she gained vast experience in standard immunological methods, molecular biology and immunological assay development. In 2020, she joined the Micro-Organo Lab as postdoctoral research scientist to support the team with her expertise in immunology. In her free time, Claudia enjoys baking, reading and discovering national parks and cities with friends.
